A Dis-Functional Family

David
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: David
David is my 19 year old son. He was not treated very well by his step-father. We got married when David was 3 years old, and should have been accepted at such a young age. After many battles and getting him graduated from high school, there were still more battles. We went from dead-end job to dead-end job and many lectures from his step-father what has yet to hold a job. But this story has a very happy ending. He joined the military and is off at boot camp now and doing very well. He is a well-adjusted young man who has goals and a vision. He is a good kid and his mother loves him so very much and is so very proud of him!! He is my one of my 3 hearts and souls.

A Day In A Dis-Functional Life
Mood:  not sure
Now Playing: Steve, Linda, David, Tyler, Ryan
Topic: The Family
I have come to believe that this family of mine needs some sort of counseling, maybe psychotherapy. As much as I try for some sort of normality, it never seems to materizlize. The main factor in this is the husband and father (also step-father) Steve. I have been married to him for approximately 16 years and have been happy for about 6 months out of the 16 years. He has bi-polar, which he just found out last summer after I left him. We have 3 kids: David 19, Tyler 15, and Ryan 12. David is his step-son. We have one of those marriages where, for example, he tries to discipline the kids and I don't ever stand behind him. I pretty much do as I want. Why, you ask? Because there is no sense of fairness. Never has been. What goes for one doesn't go for all.
